So we know that before you hit the spam filters, you must pass a few barriers, if you have a good reputation they are easy, if your reputation is not so good, you will struggle. But although you have to pass the ‘Suppression list’, the ‘Authentication’ wall and the ‘Reputation’ wall before you get to the ‘Content filtering’ wall, but there are still rules that you need to abide by once you get to that last wall as ultimately, it has the last say whether you go into the inbox, junk or nothing at all.
Today I will change up what I normally blog about. Normally my blogs are full of innovative and useful tips for you to add in to your email marketing strategy. Today I’m going to sing the praises of email marketing, particularly automated features. Email marketing and these special tools really are taken for granted.
If you’re reading this blog, you know that email marketing really does work. Research shows that it works, and I see every single day the striking results that prove that it works. But there may still be things that you are missing out on.
Email marketing can be great way to reach customers but only if firms give their campaigns the dedication it needs to succeed, cites congoo.com.
That's the advice handed out by email marketing expert Kate Kiefer Lee, writing for forbes.com, who believes that small businesses need to make it easy for consumers to sign up to a mailing list. By posting it on the homepage, blog and Facebook page, a firm can increase its reach.
So the subjects that I most regularly blog about is spam, deliverability and how you can get past them aggressive filters and into your loyal customers inbox.
But here is a new subject for you. How do you beat the most powerful spam filter of all – the Psychological Spam Filter…
The BrotherMailer system allows you to set up what we call Triggered sends. This is a powerful targeted tool that when used properly will boost your conversions. Triggered campaigns can be based around many different variables - customers’ birthdays, what they last purchased or expressed preferences.
You can set up triggered campaigns for pretty much anything you like as long as you have the data, or a way to collect the data. For example, ask your subscribers their DOB when they opt in and you can email them wishing them a happy birthday.
Email marketing expert Remi Bergsma has outlined the importance of subject lines and how much of a difference they can make to campaigns, contentplus.co.uk reports.
Bergsma explained that whilst the most important aspect of an email is the main body, subject lines often determine whether users will click through and read it in the first place. Furthermore, the ability to test it effectively allows small businesses to monitor their subject lines and optimise them to target users in the best way possible.
Writing blogs is a great way to keep in contact with your customers and potential clients but in a nice and informal way. But how is best to integrate your blog writing with your email marketing campaigns.
Firstly, of course your blog should give the reader the option to sign up for your newsletter. Put a sign up form on the side of the blog, then it is visible the whole time and I would suggest that you will see your list start to grow.
There are many different ways that companies use email marketing, it maybe the way that you keep in contact with a customer, just letting them know what’s going on in your sector, it maybe your main selling tool or you might just be trying to boost brand awareness, the list goes on.
What ever you’re using it for, there is no getting away from the fact that it is now one of the most recognised successful digital marketing tactics, and works very well with the current strategies that you are using. And creating this integration really is crucial into completing the whole circle.
The majority of my blogs are mostly tips and techniques that will help you benefit all you can from your email marketing campaigns. What not many of them contain the praise of email marketing. Which is a crime. I think that we all take it very much for granted. The ROI is in most cases incredible and ok maybe it’s not such a great idea in the long run but the more you send the more money you make, its simple.
Being a senior account manager here at BrotherMailer I see first hand on a day-to-day basis how well it works.
